Francis Marion Irvin enlisted in Aberdeen, MS on 12 Dec 1846 for the “War with Mex”.  He was mustered-in at age 19 as a Private into Capt. Acker’s Co., 2 Regiment Mississippi Infantry (Later called Co. D, 2 Regiment Mississippi Infantry.)  The Muster-in roll lists his last name as Irvine, the first Muster roll lists his last name as Ervin and all the subsequent rolls list his last name as Irvin.

Martin for the period of 12 months.  He was enlisted as a 3rd Lieutenant into the (1st) Company C, 2 Regiment Mississippi State Calvary (This company was later consolidated into Company F, 2d Regiment Mississippi State Calvary)
